Pandata Tech's #HOUHackathonForYouth Part 1

Congratulations to team underdogs! We are so proud of students from the Houston Academy for International Studies (HAIS) who competed last Friday in our first hackathon. Pandata Tech partnered with the City of Houston who provided a real problem set for the students to solve - how can the city connect more students with 20,000 jobs in Houston through www.hirehoustonyouth.org?

The ideas the students came up with were impressive and innovative, and the response from the city's representatives who led this initiative was very encouraging. Thank you Kathy/Juliet Stipeche, Christa Stoneham, Alfredo Dominguez for your openness, and also to Brandon T. Denton, MBA and Luis Moreno for speaking to the students. Additionally, thank you to Tonya Davis of Microsoft's TEALS Program who paired Gustavo Sanchez with Chantae McCurdy of HAIS' computer science program, and to Mila Taylor and Deanea LeFlore from the Ion Houston for providing the event space. Please reach out if you're interested in joining future events like this one!
