AFWERX Awards DoD Phase II Contract to Pandata Tech for Human-Centered Data Labeling System

June 28, 2022 (Houston, USA) — Pandata Tech announces it has been selected by AFWERX for a SBIR Phase II contract in the amount of $750K focused on human-centered data labeling to investigate its potential to fill capability gaps in the Department of the Air Force (DAF). Pandata Tech will be working with the 709 TMX squadron of the Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC) located at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. AFTAC is responsible for nuclear event detection and nuclear treaty monitoring. AFTAC maintains and operates the U.S. Atomic Energy Detection System (USAEDS), which consists of a global network of over 3600 sensors. This is the same group that detected and analyzed data confirming North Korea’s nuclear tests. “We are looking forward to working with the 709 TMX to develop a human-centered data labeling system that can aid such a critical cause,” says Gustavo Sanchez, Co-Founder and Technical Lead of Pandata Tech.

The Air Force Research Laboratory and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) process by accelerating the small business experience through a faster proposal to award timelines, changing the pool of potential applicants by expanding opportunities to small business and losing bureaucratic overhead by continually implementing process improvement changes in contract execution. The DAF began offering 'The Open Topic' SBIR/STTR program in 2018, which expanded the range of innovations the DAF funded. Pandata Tech will start its journey to create and provide innovative capabilities that will strengthen the national defense of the United States of America.

About Pandata Tech:

Pandata Tech helps companies and federal organizations answer the key question, "which data from my sensors can I trust to make critical decisions in daily operations and during unforeseen events?" Data professionals spend 80% of their time cleaning, normalizing, labeling, and validating data — with our AI and physics-derived software, we shaved that number down to 20%. Additionally, algorithms for maintenance and automation can be unreliable without access to clean and validated data — we increase their reliability by 50%, saving time and money. Pandata Tech offers B2B solutions, technology partnerships, and white label solutions. To learn more, please visit www.pandatatech.com.
