DoD Phase II Contract Awarded by US Air Force's RSO to Data Quality Solutions Innovator, Pandata Tech

November 21, 2019 (Houston, USA) – Pandata Tech secured a Phase II multi-year DoD (Department of Defense) contract from the RSO (Rapid Sustainment Office) of the USAF (the United States Air Force) in San Francisco, California during November 12 to 13, 2019. The Phase II contract will allow Pandata Tech to work with Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska to develop a scalable data quality platform. Pandata Tech's Data Quality Method (DQM) platform will support multiple applications on base for uses such as maintenance, aircraft operations, communications, power generation, etc.

The impact of having immediate access to qualified data will help in extreme circumstances like natural disasters, such as earthquakes, to navigate where to direct resources and which data to trust for crucial decision making. Anchorage was home to over 55,000 earthquakes in 2018. (1) Additionally, it will assist in daily operations, such as aircraft maintenance, to drastically reduce the amount of time data professionals are spending cleaning and validating data. Currently, this takes up roughly 80% of their time. With Pandata Tech's DQM implemented, data professionals will quickly have access to qualified, useful data and significantly more time to focus on future optimization of the USAF.

The end goal of the Phase II DoD contract is a Phase III contract with the opportunity to scale Pandata Tech's DQM throughout the 59 USAF bases and expand into other DoD departments, like the Navy, who manage aircraft carriers. "Pandata Tech's proprietary DQM software was built during a development partnership with one of the world's largest offshore drilling companies. Because the technology was tested and built with offshore drilling data, the shift to aircraft carriers would be smooth," explains Gustavo Sanchez, Co-Founder of Pandata Tech.

"Pandata Tech solely focused on the Energy sector, but in the spring of 2019, we decided to test other markets and find parallel uses for Pandata Tech's DQM. The sales cycle within the Oil and Gas Industry typically takes 1-2 years, which is challenging for a start-up. Pandata Tech is a Capital Factory accelerator company. Through them, we were introduced to AFWERX, an innovation arm of the USAF. We immediately saw the opportunity in the three-phase DoD contracts, through AFWERX, with the future opportunity to build and scale Pandata Tech's DQM in multiple applications," explains Jessica Reitmeier, Co-Founder of Pandata Tech. In August 2019, Pandata Tech was awarded the Phase I contract with the USAF, following the Phase II contract in November 2019.

About Pandata Tech:

Pandata Tech's data quality solutions improve input data used for critical decision making in processes, such as predictive maintenance, in a fraction of the amount of time it takes to clean and validate data manually. Pandata Tech's Data Quality Method (DQM) validates, labels, and tags data, and provides a quality score from 0 to 100 for each time series, so a company immediately knows the level of quality and usefulness of their data. The DQM is an agnostic solution that plugs into a company's existing infrastructure to make digital processes faster and more insightful. It improves input data for algorithms while decreasing repetitive, time-intensive tasks for data professionals by utilizing machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). Pandata Tech offers B2B solutions, technology partnerships, and white label solutions. To learn more, please visit www.pandatatech.com

About the RSO:

The Rapid Sustainment Office's (RSO) mandate is to increase mission readiness by quickly identifying, applying, and scaling technology vital to the operation and sustainment of the United States Air Force. The RSO focuses on reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and increasing readiness. The RSO selected 17 companies with a total investment of up to $17MM in multi-year contracts to scale new technology within the USAF and greater DoD. About AFWERX:

AFWERX is an innovation arm of the US Air Force established in 2017. Its focus is to provide non-traditional innovators the opportunity to solve challenges and increase effectiveness within the Air Force. AFWERX has accelerated timelines and processes to scale innovation within the DOD quickly to provide opportunities to 'non-traditional' companies. In the words of the AFWERX team, "many mind-blowing ideas are being birthed in US start-up companies. To capture these ideas, the Air Force must do business at the speed of innovation, inspiring and accelerating start-up creativity toward national security challenges." Of approximately 700 businesses that applied to AFWERX, Pandata Tech is grateful to be one that was selected to contribute to this collaborative effort.
