Press Release: U.S. Air Force Awards SBIR Phase 1 to Pandata Tech

ovember 3, 2021 (Houston, USA) – Pandata Tech just secured a 21.2B AFWERX Phase I contract for data labeling. Launched in 2016, Pandata Tech solely targeted the Energy industry, specifically Oil and Gas, from 2016 to 2018. In spring 2019, Co-Founders Gustavo Sanchez and Jessica Reitmeier branched out to new markets with Pandata Tech’s Data Quality Method (DQM) and have found parallel uses cases in defense, aerospace, and smart cities.

During the Phase I contract, Pandata Tech will search for applicable use cases for data labeling within the Air Force and Department of Defense (DOD). Possible use cases could include data labeling issues related to aircraft carriers, aircraft, aircraft maintenance, heavy equipment, and weather applications measured from space.

AFWERX has partnered with SBIR to shorten the SBIR timelines and provide opportunities to ‘non-traditional’ companies. In the words of the AFWERX team, “many mind-blowing ideas are being birthed in U.S. startup companies. In order to capture these ideas, the Air Force must do business at the speed of innovation; inspiring and accelerating startup creativity toward national security challenges.” Pandata Tech is grateful to be one of the small businesses selected to contribute to this collaborative effort.
